Children often say ‘I can’t do it’ or I’m stuck’ – we encourage them to see that good learning takes place when they embrace this and understand that deep learning takes place when we find things challenging and have to overcome difficulties.
Good learning takes place in the ‘learning pit’ – a concept that helps the children (and staff!) recognise the stages they will go through when learning new skills.
